Engineering expertise

Useful systems.
Sound engineering.

Reliable websites, software and AI solutions depend on what happens beneath the interface. Explore the data, integration and verification methods that inform our approach to building them.

Experience behind the approach

The examples below describe prior professional work by Rillbridge founder Mihir Sharma, rather than client projects delivered by the company. Organization names, proprietary details and confidential data are omitted. They illustrate engineering methods, not claims of company results.

01 / Data engineering

Turning varied healthcare records into structured data.

PythonApache Beam / DataflowXML / JSONFHIR

The engineering problem

Clinical records can arrive in different formats with inconsistent structures. A useful transformation needs to preserve meaning, apply repeatable mappings and make exceptions visible.

What the work involved

Healthcare data transformations involving HL7 and CCDA inputs, XML and JSON processing, and FHIR-oriented outputs. The engineering included reusable mapping logic, validation, failure routing and auditability.

How this informs delivery

A pipeline should explain what it accepted, what it rejected and why. Correctness includes the records that cannot be processed.

02 / Backend, integration & AI

Putting retrieval and agents inside an accountable workflow.

Python / FastAPILangGraphRedisREST / OData

The engineering problem

An assistant is only one part of an enterprise workflow. It also needs context, a defined path through tools, consistent state and a way to connect each step back to the original request.

What the work involved

Retrieval-backed workflows, controller and subagent orchestration, checkpointed state, and integration with enterprise services. Supporting concerns included message routing, correlation identifiers, error handling and traceable progress.

How this informs delivery

AI needs the same engineering discipline as the surrounding software: explicit boundaries, testable behavior and an understandable failure path.

03 / Performance & correctness

Improving processing without changing what the result means.

ProfilingTransformation logicRegression checks

The engineering problem

Repeated passes through structured data can add unnecessary work. Simplifying the processing is useful only when the resulting data remains equivalent.

What the work involved

Investigation of transformation and composition logic, identification of repeated work, and optimization backed by output-equivalence and regression checks.

How this informs delivery

Measure the bottleneck. Make a focused change. Verify that the behavior still matches the contract.

No production performance figures are claimed here; the focus is the engineering method.
